Hi Everyone


Hope everyone has survived the rains and flooding. At least now we have gorgeous, warm weather. New England is so variable, that it makes sense to enjoy great weather when we are fortunate enough to have it. This applies to life, as well. When it is great, love it. When it is not, change is around the corner.

  • CHANGES

  •  This seems to be transitional time for everyone I know. Mind Body Therapies is changing as well.
    1. Location: The Salem office is now closed. All Sunday clients will be going to the Danvers office at 194 North Street.
    2. Fee Schedule: Hourly fees for Hypnotherapy, Clearouts and Past Life Regressions will be increased August 30th. Fees for half hour office or phone sessions will remain at $50. You will still be able to buy a series of 3 hour sessions, in advance, for $240.
    3. Book Review: New feature of the Newsletter. If you enjoy the review, you can buy books at Laura's Store.

  • FOR THE MIND: A Breath Bath

  •  Breathing is something we all do. Some of us do it more deeply than others. Diaphragmatic breathing as in yoga breath, brings the oxygen deep into the body. Good oxygen supply is necessary for metabolic processes and overall health. Breathing is the only involuntary process we can control in the body.
    By tuning into and deepening our breath we can alter stress patterns in our body and mind. Deep breathing creates relaxation. Shallow breathing produces stress. When we are feeling stressed, we shallow breathe or hold our breath.
    1. COUNTING; If we concentrate on our breathing, and count each breath, in and out, our minds become quiet. We can only think one thought at a time. We hear only the counting and the rhythm of our breathing. Problems disappears.
    2. COLOR; Instead of counting each breath, we concentrate on breathing in pastel colors. Our breathing will slow down, and relaxation happens. We can direct these lighter colors into various organs, cleansing them and then exhaling toxins along with darker colors. A way to uplift a heavy heart.
    3. WORDS; To enhance this process we can add words. For the in-breath use words like love, health, strength and for the out-breath release negativity with words like anger, fear, boredom etc. This can be done anytime, any place, privately inside our heads and minds.

  • FOR THE BODY: Genetically Modified Food

  •  There is no labeling for genetically modified foods. How do we know we are eating them? About 70% of products on the supermarket shelves are GM (Genetically Modified) We are eating these foods and no one knows how they will affect us, long term.
    Soybeans and Corn are the most prevalent of these foods along with their derivatives. You have heard of corn and fructose syrups as well as MSG and soy sauces, soy beverages etc. These derivatives are in everything including infant formula and peanut butter.
    Best thing to do is READ LABELS and eat ORGANIC FOODS. ORGANIC FOODS are expensive, are not Genetically Modified, are raised without artificial fertilizers/pesticides and come from animals, which are not given antibiotics, growth hormones or drugs.
    It is not surprising that people have come to me with soy allergies as well as wheat, corn, dairy and other sensitivities.

  •  This book is about the Food Industry and the foods they sell to us, as consumers. Certain foods contain harmful and artificial ingredients, which strip our bodies and brains of important nutrients offer us optimum health.
    Even I was quite alarmed when I realized these pseudofoods are being given to our children, as early as infancy. The best nutrition for our children is imperative for their continued mind/body wellness.
    Read this book and understand the food industry is interested in making money, not in providing good healthy foods. "The Crazy Makers" is listed in Laura's store, and can be purchased through a link to Amazon.
