HELLO FROM LAURA
We enter Summer on June 21st along with the summer solstice and the longest day of the year. Summer is the season of growth, fun and being outside. Flowers are in bloom, as we bloom with warm weather and sunshine.
I start the month with a seminar in San Diego. Will be joining an old friend from New York, who was a seminar buddy during the '90s. Hoping to enjoy the hotel, the weather, and might even learn something.

FOR THE MIND: TV makes us tired
You know how little is to be gained watching TV. But have you thought of the cost? In an article called, "Are you Amusing Yourself to Death? "Alex Green writes that the hours in front of the tube is time you haven't spent pursuing your goals, living out your dreams or just interacting with other people.
The average viewer watches four hours of TV each day, which is two months of non-stop TV-watching per year, and nine years in a lifetime.
Why do we do it? We are able to just sit, be entertained and stimulated without having to do anything or interact. No wonder we feel tired and empty after 5 hours of it.
One of my clients stopped watching night time TV. He looks much healthier and happier. I love dumb programs, but cut my service and went back to Basic.
Less variety, less chance of it stealing my time.

FOR THE BODY: AGING
I have always been interested in the aging process, especially now as I am getting older and hopefully wiser.
Years ago, I wrote about the Calorie Restriction group in NY counting and eliminating calories in their Diets. This was thought to slow down the aging process. It was based on experiments with lab animals, who were given 1/3 less food. It extended the animal's life span.
According to Dr. Mercola it is not calorie restriction that increases life span, but lowering of insulin levels. High insulin levels speed up the aging process. Sugar and foods that turn into instant sugar raise insulin levels.
If high fructose corn syrup (worse than sugar) or sugar is listed in the first 3 ingredients, on a food/beverage label, find a healthier choice. Stay away from white trash - white bread, pasta, sugar, and artificial sweeteners. Try STEVIA, a natural herbal sweetener has no calories or carbs.
A healthy diet is a diet high in healthy fats (nuts, seeds, avocados, olive oil), fresh veggies and lean proteins. Sounds very Mediterranean to me. Add Exercise and your body changes for the better, in a few months. Add meditation and everything changes.

FOR THE SPIRIT: COLOR FOCUS
Close your eyes and relax. Slow down your breathing and let go of any distractions. Concentrate on visualizing a rainbow, focusing on the colors separately and together. Are there any colors that can be used to melt problems. Other colors can bring in happy thoughts and enjoyment.
Focus on the positive, expressing gratitude and thankfulness. By concentrating on positive thoughts with color, you allow in more positive energy. As the universal law states: Where Attention Goes - Energy Flows. (What you focus on - Grows) Might as well have the "Good" increase. By visualizing and using your positive colors for 5 minutes daily - you can create change. Try it!
