  Hello Everyone,
Summer arrived on June 21st, after an erratic short spring. Now, we will enjoy warmer days, longer days and have more opportunity to have lots of fun in the sun. Good time to sweat - a way of detoxing. Don't forget to eat lots of fresh grown fruits and vegetables which can be found at local farmer's markets. As you lighten your food intake, your weight and spirit will lighten as well.

  • FOR THE MIND: Insomnia

  •  I hear many complaints from clients about insomnia. There are many different types and causes of insomnia. Sometimes, the expectation of not falling asleep or not having a good sleep is a belief based on past experiences. Sometimes, current stress, worries and fear may affect sleep patterns.
Here are some hints, to help with sleep concerns.
1.Keep a journal next to your bed to write down your thoughts. Writing will ground and clear repetitive thoughts and worries. Next, write 3 things that happened during the day, which were blessings. Close your eyes, breathe, focus on those happy events and peacefully drift off into sleep.
    2. Sleep in complete darkness. Sleeping with the light from TV, hallways, closets, etc. can stop the production of natural melatonin, - needed for sleep. Some people find melatonin, the supplement, helpful before bedtime to induce sleep.
    3. Avoid eating 2 hours before bed time. Some people find heavy meals or late meals can cause a gastro- intestinal disturbance which can interrupt falling asleep. Very sweet foods can cause a glucose imbalance - and may create cravings in the middle of the night. With some people, morning coffee or caffeine can interrupt nightly sleep patterns.
On the other hand, there are those nibblers who need a light bite to bring on slumber.
    4. Eat sleep inducing foods. Some of them are bananas, plums, cheries, oats, rice, walnuts or just a warm cup of herb tea. Warm milk, a source of calming tryptophan, before bed, may be a night time solution.
    5. Gentle music may help to achieve a great sleep.
    6. Make an appointment with Laura for a "Hypno-Sleep" Session to create sweet sleep and sweet dreams.

  • FOR THE BODY: Stress and the Adrenals

  •  Stress can overpower us and cause our adrenal glands to be overworked. Stress can come from emotional causes, transition, incorrect eating, insufficient sleep (insomnia), work, injury, illness, over - exercise, family problems etc. Sometimes a little nutritional help overcoming chronic or acute stress can reverse fatigue and exhaustion.

    THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

An Individual Soulful Approach for attracting what we want, in a way that works. Many books have been written on this subject. The latest is "THE SECRET".
Manifestation is not new. We have used systems presented by Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Abraham , Caroline Myss and others. It sounds easy, but these techniques may work only for some people.
We each have our own spectacular process which operates personally and efficiently. We will go deep within, using creative visualization to release barriers and to unlock our special abilities. We will explore our path as we search for the keys which will open the door to success.
