'Tis the season to be jolly! The 21st of December is the Winter Solstice, and marks the beginning of Winter, and longer days. Good time to be taking supplements; Multi Vit/Min, Vitamin D, or Cod Liver Oil. Use full spectrum incandescent bulbs at home. For SAD, try a lightbox or the electric beach. Continue physical activity, even though it feels like night at 4:30pm. Try to get 20 minutes of sunlight daily.

  •  This is from the July 2006 issue of Woman's World, not a medical journal, but I agree that these foods make you fat.
    1. REDUCED FAT PEANUT BUTTER has added sugar and you will eat more. Eat real peanut butter, no sugar, no Skippy ....
    2. INSTANT OATMEAL - has added sugar and twice the calories of regular oatmeal.... Eat real oatmeal.
    3. COFFEE CREAMER has 80 calories in 2 TBS.... Use milk.
    4. INSTANT POTATOES - Dehydrated potatoes are mixed with fat for texture, adding calories...Eat real potatoes.
    5. DIET SODA - one a day increases the risk of overweight by 65%. Body expects calories - doesn't get it - body eats more after diet soda.... Drink water.
    LAURA SAYS: Eat real food, no reduced fat, no instant anything, no diet anything. These foods are phony, manufactured, processed and addictive. They will not give nourishment and will keep you hungry. No one loses weight addicted to Diet Soda.

    1. May you have ease in your life
    2. May you always be safe
    3. May you have mental happiness
    4. May you have physical happiness
    Our minds absorb words (kind or unkind) directed to others as if directed to us. Unkind judgments about others, are heard by our mind as judgments about ourselves. Sooooo.....Might as well talk kindly about ourselves and others.
