August - the last month of summer
Hi Everyone,
August is a good month to continue enjoying the sun,
the long days, being active and outdoors, and eating a
light diet. I will have to take advantage of this month
as I seem to have lost the month of July, due to
packing, moving and unpacking.
I am almost settled in now and am seeing clients in
both the Danvers and Salem locations. My new
location in Danvers houses chiropractors, massage
therapists and physical therapists. It is a very active
practice and the offices are very warm and friendly.
Come see me there - for classes or nutrition,
hypnotherapy or a clearout appointment.

FOR THE MIND: Information Overload | | Last year, there was an article written in Organic Style
magazine, which pinpointed much of the stress I have
been feeling. One reader gave it the name of "New
Economy Depression Syndrome".
This syndrome describes a bunch of symptoms,
including depression, exhaustion, irritability and
anxiety. Heart Math, a California stress research
organization, found that the more time people spent on
computer and similar devices, the more they were
likely to be depressed. Heart Math suggested these
symptoms were brought on by Information
Overload.
Modern media is multisensory, addictive and fast
paced. Certainly, we can not keep up with it. Cell
phones, email, internet searches, writing, seeking other
computer information can be habit forming.
To stop Information Overload, data diets and
other remedies are suggested. They are as follows:
1. Take breaks, long and short term, away from data.
2. Set a timer for working with machines. 3.
Check email only a couple of times per day. 4.
Talk instead of type. Use the phone or see real people.
Talking brings us back to human contact. Using
machines for socializing is depleting.
For me, a day without the computer, cell phone and
other gadgets is a happy day spent well.

FOR THE BODY: Unseen Food Impurities | | 1. Fluoride Fluorine has been put into the drinking .
water to help guard against cavities in children. In
1986 the maximum contaminant amount was considered
to be 4 parts per million in drinking water. The National
Academy of Science will be taking a new look to see if
this amount should be lowered. Why? High amounts of
fluorine may be harmful as it can increase the risk of
bone fracture, dental discoloration and other problems.
Additional sources of Fluorine are found in soda, beer,
reconstituted juice drinks, along with processed food,
instant tea, and wine made in the USA. More
reason to cook, eat organic, remove processed foods
from your diet and drink imported wine.
The local water department can give you
information as to the amount of fluoride in your drinking
water. There should be no more than 1 part per
million.
2. Irradiated Foods
Food irradiation kills some bacteria in foods and
makes foods last longer and look better. Some
nutrients are removed and some toxic components are
created in this process. Labels may not show that
foods were irradiated. This process is used on meats,
fruits, vegetable, flour, eggs and more. When
strawberries last for more than a week, chances are
they are irradiated. Just another reason to eat
organic and unprocessed foods.

exercise. Learn a transformational, integrative
approach that addresses not only the physical and
nutritional aspects, but also the emotional, mental and
spiritual components. Discover powerful weight loss
visualizations and exercises that will help you improve
your eating choices and your health. This class

INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT
Saturday, Sept 17 and Nov 19, 2005; from 1-3pm
The ability to be "Psychic" and to use your Intuition is
a "knowing" we all possess, yet few of us trust it. Being
psychic is the ability to "tune" into information from the
world, other people and most important your inner
wisdom. Becoming aware of your intuitive gifts can
lead to expanded capabilities to predict and follow
your life's opportunities. Learn to recognize and
distinguish your special abilities through guided
meditations, energy awareness, and discussion in a
safe and comfortable environment. Learn how these
abilities can be used for personal awareness and
extraordinary perception. Subjects such as dreams,
deja vue, hunches, tarot, psychometry and other
phenomena will be addressed.
